Bill- Sounds good to me.I was thinking this
that just this morning- I always let my jugs of water sit out for a couple days
before I water my houseplants and I thought -"I wonder why I have never heard
about the chlorine thing in the garden" It has to have an effect. The other thing
I do is to use warm water on a lot of plants epecially when transplanting-at
least in pots-with flowers. So using warm in the garden would seem to be
beneficial too. But not sure how to do that using a hose. Mel talks about this
in his book. With the raised beds- I was not able to use his technique to water-
the beds just dried out too soon.Used soakers and tripped over them constantly.
Hoping to find a better way. Tt was getting them UP to the raised beds that
caused the problems . Where the soakers and "ys" laid flat on the ground-
it was fine- but would sure like to find a better way to get the water into the
beds.Still very new to this game and not much money to spend.-Teri

Teri- I am expanding my water reservoir from two barrels storage to three
barrels. They catch rainwater when available, and I fill them up with tap
water when the rainwater runs out. Although the tap water is not as
desirable as rain water, the garden can still benefit from air temperature
water. (It seems that cold water directly from the tap can stop plants from
growing for a time from the temperature shock.) After a day or two I have
heard that the clorine from tap water may dissapate/evaporate to a great
degree which is good news. Some gardeners simply fill up their watering cans
the day before and let them sit over night.
What do you think?
