I know that tomatoes cannot set fruit in really hot weather like you've
been having. Maybe cucumbers are the same. I would errect some shade
cloth and put a really thick 2" mulch around the plants to help conserve
moisture. Sun is awfully stressful on a plant, especially vertical when
it's that hot.
