Okay, the garden is tilled, lots of organic matter mixed in (we don't
have the $$ to buy much soil amendments at the moment) and the sod has
been broken up and added to the infantile compost pile.  Now my question
is whether we should mulch the soil for the winter, and/or what we
should mulch it with?  Are dead leaves okay?  Is it too late to plant a
cover crop?  Suggestions?  Lore?  Lectures?
