Hi Derald and all--

I've been lurking for a few weeks, and am looking forward to participating
in the group. I'm a freelance writer/book author/designer, and have about
200 square feet of square ft. gardens here, plus some perimeter beds that I
built out of rocks on the property. We live in the TX Hill Country, which
means LOTS of limestone rocks, top soil that's about 1/2" deep, and lots of
scrubby cedar trees.

Of course, in this terrain, the raised bed, sq. ft. gardens work great!

About Derald's wildflowers--it's normal for them to be up this time of
year. I planted some seeds the first of October, and they are already up,
as are the ones leftover from last spring. Around here, we can plant them
through Thanksgiving. They come up in the fall/winter, and then winter
over. In the spring, they bloom! Actually, most things grow better around
here in the fall, since it gets so hot so early in the spring.

So, don't worry about your wildflowers--they'll be fine!
