The Brother label maker I use is PT-1280. But any Brother labeler that
uses the TZ tapes will work. Check the specifications. Not all label
makers will work on the TZ tapes. The TZ tapes are made for
indoor/outdoor use and are waterproof. They are the only type of label
(at least for Brother) that is for outdoor use. They come in several
different widths. You can get black print on clear tape, black on
white and white on black. It may come in colors too, I'm not sure.
These tapes and a similar Brother label maker are now being sold
through Garden Supply as permanent outdoor labels. Their label maker
is more expensive. But it looks like the only difference is that it is
green and yellow ("garden") instead of silver and black. I am in zone 5, southwest Ohio. The majority of my markers are in the middle of my yard where they get full sun and no protection from snow, rain, wind, etc. I have tried many other labels and methods to mark my plants but none held up more than a year. I am very happy with my choice. Diane Francesca Thoolen wrote: __._,_.___ YAHOO! GROUPS LINKS
