I have to second this living in a particularly harsh (extremely
cold and also rainy) climate. We do have a reliable snow cover
for 6 months of the year and the other months lots and lots of
rain. But many iris species do well here in the mountains.
This is a good time to tell Bill Burleson that at least one Iris
albicans did survive our -40 temps. this winter. It has
increased but, of course, no bloom here the first year.

I was happy to see a pic of 'Dinar Mountains' posted today since
it bloomed here for the first time this year being new to our
garden. (I also noticed that I do not have 'Susan Bliss' since
the iris I have marked as Susan is definitely not pink. )
