I used to be much more tolerant with other cats coming onto my property.
That is until my cat was attacked for the second time to the tune of
$600 in vet bills (both times).
I use the live trap. The cats are reasonably calm in the trap. I take
them to the animal shelter and provide all the location information they
require so they can find the owners (if any). Most are feral.
I keep my cats in most nights (ocasionally they escape the "lock-down")
