I'll be moving my louisianas later this year; some of them have a scale
infestation I've been battling for about a year. They haven't been real
happy in their temporary growing area, so with all the trimming of infested
leaves they may not even bloom this spring. I've been able to cotrol it
somewhat with Ortho's "Isotox" spray. I wonder if I should dip them in a
dilute solution of it before transplanting, but I hate to handle all that
poison. Any suggestions? I can replant the louisianas immediately upon
digging, or clean them up and spray the tops, soaking the roots overnight
while leaving the tops exposed. I just don't want the scale to follow them
to the new bed.
