You might want to consider tuberous iris, such as German or Dutch. I saw
large numbers of them in pots at my local Evergreen Nursery a couple of
weeks ago in Johnson City, Tenn. These irises are widely grown in
greenhouses for the cut flower trade, and are usually purple or yellow.
