I did, but I did not apply the vinegar with a spray. I poured the vinegar
onto the base of the grass wherever it was. Picture a very old (hundred yr
old house), flower bed that is contained by the house on one side and by
large timbers on the other side and ends. In this bed someone planted tea
roses, daffodils, and iris. Such a combination! Then picture dense grass
that spreads by thick, prickly, underground rhizomes and can grow 4 to 5
feet tall thus hiding everything. I started pouring vinegar at the base of
the grass clumps. When the grass is well into the season, it takes 2,3,...
applications, but eventually burns the grass down. This year, there were a
few blades, feet apart, that were easy to take out. The iris have done very
well. One measured 45" high - a real "tall" bearded :) I buy vinegar by
the two gallon case at Costco.

Colleen, how do you apply the vinegar when it's growing in with the irises?
I assume the irises don't like being sprayed with it.
