Francelle Edwards Glendale, AZ Zone 9 Hello, Everyone, I finally got all my irises planted and replanted here in Southern AZ where we had our last 100 degree day less than a week ago. I planted my last bed in a race with predicted rain, the only time I can remember that I prayed that it wouldn't rain. It held off until the last one was planted then watered them in. I am amazed that Betty can plant so late where I know it will soon be cold weather. This is latest I can plant here in the warm country and have my irises do well. I have noticed that when the ground gets cool in my garden, roots don't form. Last year I planted from the first of Oct. to the second week in Nov. There was a direct correspondence between time of planting and vigor of the irises. The first ones bloomed well. The last ones didn't bloom at all and about a third died.
