I don't mark keepers. I've put a highway flag (red plastic flag on a wire)
on those I'm going to discard if I think I might get them mixed up with a
keeper. I usually wait and let them bloom. The blooms haven't ever been so
ugly that I was willing to dig them as blooming plants. The wire flag in
the middle of the clump designates a clump to dig and toss and ensures I'm
not relying on memory and accidently dig one I'm willing to let hang around
a bit longer. That also gives me more time to dig it out although I usually
try to eliminate them very soon after bloom is finished.
