Rabbits eating all

I haven't posted very often, but have learned so much from all your 
accumulated knowledge.  So now I hope that you can help me with a problem. 
Rabbits are eating so many of my perennials as they emerge from the ground 
that I am both angry and devastated.  I purchased a 'live' trap and they 
don't seem to be interested in it. I have a large garden that is spread out 
so applying deterrents such as dried blood has been unsuccessful in the 
past. The rabbit population has increased tremendously or else they have 
spread the word that there are delicious selections on my property and many 
more are visiting---and dinning.

Any and all suggestions as to what to do to save my garden are eagerly awaited.
