My blue lobelia (L. syphilitica) is blooming
next to a pink climbing rose, 'Zephrine
Droughan', both colors showing against my
yellow house. Very pretty.
For other late blue color you can't beat
caryopteris 'Dark Knight' or 'Blue Mist.' If you
like golden foliage, there is 'Worchester Gold,'
so you get the blue flowers against the golden
foliage.
The other "late, great, blue" is a shrub vitex
agnus castus. Looks like a blue veronica "tree."
Bees adore it.

blooming in the hot
