<< Well, I bought this lovely little plant in the basket and planter
section of a local greenhouse. It is named Angelonia, nandiana - annual
and is called Orchid Falls. The plant has narrow dark green leaves at
the base with a slender flower spike with a few leaves on it. The
flowers look a little like a small, snapdragon w/out the snap. They are
dark blue with a white throat. I can't find it anywhere in my garden
books or catalogs. It says it is best in sun. Anyone have anymore
information on it? Should I cut the flower stalk back when the flowers
are spent?

Some of our local nurseries in the Cincinnati area sell hanging baskets of
scaveola which sounds somewhat like what you're describing--small blue
snapdragons without the snap. I did find Angelonia, but not nandiana, in the
AHS A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants and it is what you are describing. Both
angelonia and scaveola are from other continents and not hardy in your zone so
treat them as annuals. I don't know whether they would successfully endure
winter as a houseplant--perhaps someone else can help with this.
