Jim,
I had a big 4 inch split in my main vine when my plant was only a foot
long.. real you ng.. I soaked a cotton cloth in daconil ( the preferred
in this list is captan, but I could not get any at the time I needed it,
so I went with this antifungal, disease halting agent) wrapped the area,
and buried it.. After 2 days, I dug up the area of the split, removed
the cloth(so the growth of the vine would not be limited to the area it
was wrapped) and reburied it.. Try that, it should work, it did for me..
