Just in case this has not become complicated enough, I would make the
following grammatical argument. The name under which the cultivar is
registered is the true fancy name and should follow the accepted rules of
nomenclature, i.e., italics followed by single quotes for the cultivar name
which would be in normal font. But since the commercial name is a pseudonym,
not its "real" name, it should be double quotes.
