One of 2 I cristata I got in 2008 seems to be doing ok and increasing, although the 2nd one disappeared this spring. Another one you have to kneel to check out. It still hasn't bloomed though.
I have 2 I milesii (I hope) that a friend grew from seed, up in the North West Territories. It never overwintered for him, so he kept it in the fridge for winter, then finally sent it to me. I've tried one outside over winter, and it didn't survive either, so now that it increased enough this summer in one of my planters, I have split it into 2 pots. Both are now on a little table near a south facing window. It still hasn't bloomed for me, so I haven't been able to confirm its id.
I don't normally bring iris inside over winter, aside from a Japanese iris or 2. I'm beginning to think I'll check into converting the southwest front part of my shed into an alpine house.
