Thanks for all the advice so far. Just a bit more history, those not
interested may delete this message.

My Mom has offered me the funds to "begin my own business and incorporate".
She helped my brother fund his medical practice some years ago and feels she
needs to do the same for me. In my case, I don't want to open an office, I
want to purchase equipment to help my writing and lecturing.

Jeff, my husband Don has already warned me about tax issues. He'd rather I
not have a corporation, and continue to file taxes the way we do now.

Since there's already been some hints here I'd like to hear what lap tops
work for all of you. Also, camera experience. In the past I've had a digital
Olympus Camedia that was fine for point and shoot. Right now I have a
wonderful collection of Nikor lenses and was hoping to get the D70 Digital
Nikon camera so I could continue to utilize those lenses.

Also, Slide scanner information would be helpful. I have 1,000's of slides
to scan.
